India 'to drop' menstrual forms
The Indian civil service is dropping part of a new appraisal form requiring female employees to detail their menstrual cycles, a top official says.
The ministry of personnel says that the decision to delete the controversial part of the form was taken following an intervention by the prime minister.
Some female civil servants described the form as grossly insensitive.

To a lot of people is inconceivable to be asked by your employer such information. For those employed ... what other 'crazy' things do employers want to know about their prospective employees? It would be difficult to be suprised us after this .

Although it seems to wild practice asking female incumbents about their menstrual periods, but still there is logic behind it. Provide the ladies with less strainfull and/or light assignment during the period. Even, in some places, Indonesia for example, it was practiced to provide the working ladies additional paid leave during the period if she wanted to enjoy that leave. However, after the provision of leave found to be abused, such leave facility has been drooped (most likely during late seventies).
