Do you remember the horrible covers on the, 'The best of the top of the pops' albums which came out in the seventies?

I can't remember that much about the seventies  But I seem to recall the music albums used to get really destroyed at parties when people tried to drunkenly put the pickup on a certain track, then someone else didn't like it and there would be a horrible scratching noise as the needle scraped across the record.
Freddie Gage was:
Nicknamed the Underworld Preacher, Gage is a reformed drug addict from Texas.
I suppose it could have been a good marketing ploy to have a really bad album cover to get publicity?
