I have just finished reading Vikram Seth's 'A Suitable Boy'. It's an excellent book, and seems to read very authentically about Indian society. I'd be interested to know whether people whio know India better than I do share this view? (His other novel, 'An Equal Music', is also wonderfully authentic about what it is like to be a Western classical musician: how amazing to be able to write about two such different cultures!)
The main opurpose of this post, though, is that in the book one of the characters (and yes, it is one of the English characters, not a local Indian!) wonders 'How do you fuck in a sari?' I have to admit that it is something that I have sometimes wondered about, particularly when I see some of the beautiful girls who wear saris in my neighbourhood. Do any of Kama's readers (or indeed Kama herself?) have any thoughts on the matter? Is it possible to make love wearing a sari? Is there a special technique, or ways which are particularly excitingl? Or does the treasure have to be unwrapped first?!
