Hi
I'm Ray Harris. I'm something of an advocate for sex-positive attitudes. I regard myself as an Advaita Tantrika. I've had a number of very powerful experiences of the Shakti and Kundalini. I'm writing a novel that explores the theme of the goddess throughout history and culture, in ancient Greece, in ancient Jewish culture, Christian Gnosticism and Indian Tantric and Shakta religions.
I'm fully supportive of Kama's aim to restore the status of the devadasi and I am aware that the use of sacred sex was common in the pre-Christian era.
One of the wonders of the ancient world was the temple of Artemis at Ephesus. Young girls used to 'sell' their virginity in rites designed to ensure future fertility. Artemis governed children.
I believe we need to rediscover the more intelligent attitudes to sexuality found in the goddess religions. If there is such a thing as sexual intelligence then the west is stupid.
I've joined this forum to see if I can learn more, as well as to hear other perspectives.

Hi, I am curious about sex, about sensuality and the way it's been debased in our culture so it becomes like some kind of competition ... rather than what I feel it should be, which is something more than that.
Maybe if I visit here I will be able to formulate the Question and perhaps find some answers (I am sure there is no one big Answer).

Hi
I'm Dolphin.. I hail from the city of joy in India, I'm against discrimination, and like any other expat I'm fiercely curious about all things new to me.
I've never visited Kama (although I've tried ) and I'm not supportive of what she does, but I am in awe of her dedication to my dieties. And for this I wish to use this forum to try and understand what a devdasi is all about.
I hope you'll let me stay.

Hi Kama,
I am Michael from New York. I can across your website by accident and was curious. So, I hope by joining the community, I may get to learn more about you and the Devadasi tradition.
I look forward to an eventual meeting in the next several months. I have to admit though I am a bit nervous about the whole experience. Joining this board would help break the ice, I suppose.

Hi Kama,
I'm Monte from Australia currently holidaying in the UK. A mate of mine from Australia suggested I look into your website that he had come across while he was holidaying here but did not get the opportunity to follow thru. I am indeed very grateful to him for this lead.....have browsed thru so many websites in the past promoting escorts and related services, but have never come across one that's as mentally stimulating as that of yours leave alone the sexual appeal created by your photos and the services you offer......eagerly looking forward to "the encounter"
I believe that I perhaps belong to an older age cohort amongst your admirers/clients, and having mongered mostly in Australia and in South and Southeast Asia for many years, I have been rather reluctant to even sniff around here in the UK for the fear of getting caught up in unnecessary trouble. Thus, I am hoping that my introduction to the sex scene in the UK through your Devadasi Ashram would be a highly inspiring experience.

Dear Monte,
Welcome to the Devadasi Ashram, and you might be surprised to learn that many of my guests are older and more mature men. I think it is often that once men have learnt that youthful ardour and energy is not as satisfying as it once was that they look for depth of experience rather than just another experience that only repeats what they have done so many times before

Kama,
It's comforting to note that many of your guests may be of my age group and as for looking for depth of experience etc. you just pulled the words out of my mouth.

I found this message board from Kama's Blog.
I find that interesting reading and some of the messages on here too.
Having met Kama once, I couldn't help but be a fan and I hope to contribute to the board in one way or another.

Hi - just joined and this my 'hello' posting. I'm actually a Kingston resident, I had seen Kama's name crop up so many times on a review website I had to investigate this site. Who knows - we've probably passed each other in the street! someday soon I'll find the nerve and the moulah to visit you in person. Meanwhile I agree with so much of what you say regarding the politics and sociology of sex workers. Two things really bug me: first the idea that the business and anyone involved in it are to be disrespected scorned and even despised (how many hypocrits there are!). I genuinely respect and admire a woman who practises a trade which gives such pleasure and fulfills mans natural desires. Secondly the word 'prostitute' itself. All of us who need to work for a living and try to get on in the world are in some way 'prostitutes', ie. you give something of yourself in a way which someone else wants, in return for cash. These women give more than most for relatively little compensation - I am not naive enough to think they particularly enjoy doing it most of the time. The term 'sex worker' seems best but a bit clumsy. "Working girl' is just avoiding the issue - if I say I'm a 'working man' you don't think that means I'm a male sex worker, do you? well actually if anyone wanted to pay me (male or female) then I'd do it, but that's another story. As for 'call girl' its again avoiding the issue. 'Hooker' and 'whore' are objectionable. Well that's me, had my little rant, best wishes to you Kama and all who follow you

Welcome aboard and thank you for your comments... you should open a thread on this issue because I have often thought that in Europe there is an idea that any woman who exchanges sex for money or favours is only a prostitute and that appelant is sufficient to describe every woman who does this...
I think such behaviour occurs along a long continuum and that these experiences vary greatly...
I think it is often like describing Michael-Angelo as a painter and decorator...!

kama,
hi, love your site. do you feel that you have progressed spiriually doing your work. How do you handle the downside of it , such as people who are just gross, smell or just want deep throat or golden showers etc.
i hope to meet you someday, my first love was an indian girl who i
never consummated with. your eyes remind me of her in that you seem to
be content spiritually and very sensitive.
do you ever come to the states? before i meet you i would like to understand
more about devadasi and the gods and how you interact, or channel them?
i am more interested in the experience and oral only would be fine.
i saw enough on your site to know that you are a vey superior individual
and just to be in your company would be great.
what are you studying in school. Maybe you should consider medicine with you interest in the body and all.

Dear Andrew,
I have certainly found the last three years to have been a fascinating time as I have put some much of what had been "theory" into practice... regarding the "downside" I am very fortunate in that men who just want performance sex realise that they shouldn't visit me so they don't...
In seeking the incartnation of the Deity in the Human male I have found the experience to be actually really enlightening... seeing how the divine manifests himself is the wonderful surprise in each encounter... sometimes it is a challenge and other times it is amazing how some aspect of Shiva presents himself... it can be quite eerie...
I doubt if I will visit the USA anytime soon...maybe after the next presidential election...
I am studying a degree that considers gender and development...

Kama,
i agree with you about the U.S. It is very painful for someone like myself
who has spent all my life here. There is massive social and cultural deterioration in the U.S. I am very attuned and i could see that england is really moving and conscious in a way that the u.s is not. If I was college age I think I would move to the U.K. or Ireland.
I feel that many of the major religions are hardening in their stance and radicalizing. And I think that this is a direct consequence of increased competition between races and countries. i also belive that the hindu religion is among the most advanced religions on the planet. unfortunately
it is the most aggressive and nasty that are growing currently.
we are definitely entering a period of growth through destruciton where the
human race will outgrow some of its primitiveness after a period of brutal
interaction between races and religions. I think that there is an excellent cultural and religioius base to understand this process in Indian thought.

I'm not interested in the sex-aspect of this site - I came here to offer my POV on the political discussions and to read Kama's blog - I think she's cool.
